At Litson, Syerra reviews pleadings for revision before they are filed, verifies every citation, and handles electronic filing with the courts. She organizes and coordinates discovery on complex matters, manages scheduling and calendaring for the trial team, and serves as a steady point of contact for clients throughout their cases.

Before joining the firm, Syerra worked alongside Assistant Federal Public Defenders, drafting pretrial motions, sentencing memoranda, and other pleadings, interviewing witnesses, and distilling her legal research into memos for the assigned attorney. She is trained in witness interviews, evidence review, and testifying in federal court. She began her career as an investigator intern with the Colorado State Public Defender in Colorado Springs.

Syerra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Chadron State College, where she served as a student senator. Her continuing legal training includes NACDL and NDIA programs and seminars on sentencing mitigation, defending sexual abuse cases, representing transgender and non-binary clients, and working with clients who have mental illness.
