Carly Crotty

Law Clerk

Carly Crotty is a law clerk at Litson and a third-year student at Belmont University College of Law, where she serves as an Associate Article and Notes Editor of the Belmont Law Journal. She supports the firm’s attorneys on federal white-collar, state criminal, and civil matters through legal research, drafting, and discovery.

At Litson, Carly researches legal questions for the trial team and drafts briefs, memoranda, and motions. She helps attorneys prepare discovery and pretrial strategy and works alongside the firm’s paralegals on case management. Her work centers on the firm’s federal white-collar cases and extends to its state criminal and civil matters, with support for BevLaw Group and Hemp Law Group clients as needed.

Before joining the firm, Carly interned with Legal Powers PLLC, a Nashville criminal defense practice, where she drafted motions and pleadings, researched issues ahead of hearings and trial, and attended General Sessions and Criminal Court proceedings and jail visits with clients. She also worked as a legal assistant at Fleming Wilmoth Law Firm on child custody, divorce, and mediation matters, drafting complaints, discovery, and interrogatories.

At Belmont Law, Carly won the 2025 Dean’s Cup, the school’s first-year moot court tournament, and was a national finalist at the Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. She is a member of the Board of Advocates and the College of Law American Inn of Court.
