Ridwan Ahmed Joins Litson as Associate Attorney

October 8, 2026

Ridwan Ahmed has joined Litson PLLC as an associate attorney after passing the Tennessee bar exam. Founding partners Alex Little and Zack Lawson hired him as a law clerk when the firm opened in 2024, and he worked on Litson cases while earning his law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law, where he graduated this year. At Alabama, he competed on the Trial Advocacy Competition Team, served as a junior editor of the Alabama Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Law Review, and was selected for the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. He will focus on white-collar criminal defense and also handle civil litigation.

“Ridwan has been with us since the day we opened,” said Alex Little, Litson’s managing partner. “He has worked on our biggest cases, and our clients already know him and trust him. Passing the bar makes official what we have seen for two years. He is a lawyer who does the work.”

Before law school, Ahmed was a paralegal with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Health Care Fraud Strike Force in Houston, where he supported investigations and trials in health care fraud and pharmaceutical drug diversion cases. He received the Drug Enforcement Administration’s award for Outstanding Contributions to Drug Law Enforcement and an Award for Excellence in Investigation from the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners named him a 2020 Fraud Fighter of the Year.

He started his career in science. Ahmed was an immunology and microbiology researcher at the Texas Medical Center and The University of Texas at Austin, where he studied gene expression in sinus disorders and antibiotic production in bacteria. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from UT Austin. That training gives him a working knowledge of the medical and scientific evidence at the center of many health care fraud cases.

“Alex and Zack hired me as a law clerk two years ago, when the firm was brand new, and I’ve learned to practice from lawyers who tried federal cases,” Ahmed said. “At the Justice Department, I saw how fraud cases get built. Now I get to use that for clients who need someone who understands the evidence against them.”
