Litson PLLC Retained to Defend Former Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy

Litson PLLC has been retained to represent former Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy in the case pending against her in Hamilton County Criminal Court. Litson partners Paige Nutini and Ted Canter, both former federal prosecutors, will lead the defense. The case is set for trial Jan. 19 through 22, 2027, before Senior Judge Don Ash. The defense has withdrawn its earlier motion to move the trial, and it will proceed in Hamilton County.

Ms. Murphy has pleaded not guilty to all counts and is presumed innocent.

“Ms. Murphy has waited more than 2 years for her day in court. We are ready to try this case in January, in Hamilton County, in front of a jury from the community she served,” said Paige Nutini, partner at Litson PLLC.

The firm will not comment further on the pending proceedings.
