Litson Founders Alex Little and Zack Lawson Named to the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America

September 16, 2026

Litson PLLC founding partners Alex Little and Zack Lawson were named to the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America, both for the first time. They are 2 of only 13 Tennessee lawyers in the guide.

Of the 4,000 lawyers in the guide, only 58 are recognized for criminal defense. Little is the only one in Tennessee, and he and Lawson are the state’s only honorees recognized for any criminal work.

Little and Lawson opened Litson in May 2024 with 3 attorneys. Less than 3 years later, it is one of only 2 Tennessee firms with more than 1 lawyer in the guide.

Lawdragon’s editors choose the honorees through submissions, journalistic research of the lawyers behind the biggest cases, and editorial vetting by a board of peers, with an emphasis on recent results. In May, Little and Lawson were part of the legal team that won the return of a sitting congressman’s phone seized by the Justice Department, which also agreed to destroy the data it had copied. The full guide is at lawdragon.com.

Little, the firm’s managing partner, is recognized for criminal defense, investigations, and litigation. Before founding Litson, he was a federal prosecutor in 2 districts and a CIA political analyst, and he has tried dozens of cases before federal juries. Chambers USA ranks him for white-collar crime and government investigations, and The Best Lawyers in America has listed him since 2021.

Lawson, who leads the firm’s Knoxville office, is recognized for civil and criminal litigation and white collar matters. He represents individuals and companies in government investigations, constitutional challenges, and parallel civil proceedings. Best Lawyers has named him to its Ones to Watch list since 2022.

“We started this firm on the belief that people facing the government deserve lawyers who have actually tried cases,” Little said. “Seeing both founders on this list, this early, tells us we built the right kind of firm.”
“The cases that earned this are the ones we set out to take, people standing up to the government with everything on the line,” Lawson said. “I am grateful to the clients who trusted us with them.”
